Zone 3.1 Championship started in Sharjah, UAE

Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al-Nehayan open the Zonal 3.1 Championship in Sharjah, U.A.E. 26 Players from all 11 countries of Zone 3.1 Participated in Men and Women Section. Both competition are in 9 Rounds but for Men competition it's a 16 Players Swiss System when the competition of Women Section is a 10 Players Round Robin.  See the Ranking, Pairings & Results of:  Men Section , Women Section.

The FIDE Asian Zone 3.4 Championships ended on the 17th of June 2011 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan for the 2011 Individual World Cup which will be held in Khanty-Mansisik, Russia in August. View the crosstable and download games for the Open and the Women's sections.


The prizes were awarded by H.E Mohamed Hareb AL-Muhairbi UAE Ambassador to Uzbekistan on behalf of Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakbout Al-Nehayan, president of the Asian Chess Federation in the presence of H.E Bakhodir M. Akhmedov, Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and H.E Hisham Al-Taher, Secretary General of the Asian Chess Federation

India Dominates in Asian Junior and Girls Championships, Iran won the Seniors

 Indian players dominated in the Asian Junior Chess Championships held from 1st to 9th June at Bentota Beach Hotel, Bentota, Sri Lanka. Shyam Sundar, the top seed International Master from India won the Championship consecutively scoring 7 ½ points out of possible 9 games. He proves that he is superior by being unbeaten throughout the event.
